Fugitive in my backyard
Well ok not RIGHT in my backyard because I dont' have much of one, but just less than two miles away.
I occasionally watch America's Most Wanted in the hopes of seeing someone I would recognize. To date, I haven't, which is kind of good, because I would hate to have to see someone I'm dating on there. But anyway, I also occasionally watch the news but it's rare that I do anymore, but I happened to do that on the 11th. And I saw that they caught a fugitive right off the entrance to Lazaretto Creek, which is less than two miles from my house, and I see it every day when I go on and off the island. I see the shrimp boats there too. Well they got this guy who was on one of the shrimp boats. Click above somewhere for the entire story. Too damn bad I couldn't see it. I think they did it like so early in the morning, before the rest of the world wakes up but when the shrimp boats are ready to go out and stuff. They didn't get him til after I went to class. Damn. Missed photo op.
On another note.......
Freezer burn I can't stand it. And when I got back from my trip I had to actually throw some of the vegetables away because of it. Ever eat frozen veggies cooked that had freezer burn? Don't taste good. I use the freezer bags, but the peas STILL had freezer burn, AND they were double-bagged, the original then the freezer bag. It is quite annoying. I turned the freezer down some, but nope it still freezes up a storm. Which is good but I don't want FREEZER BURN! What am I doing wrong here.
School supplies! Can you say EXPENSIVE?!?! Cause it's gonna cost me several hundred dollars this year for them. Shit sometimes I wonder if this is the right track to go I swear. The textbooks alone cost over $100. WTF??? WHY must they be that expensive? I think they just want to jack us up, because I see other books that size that do NOT cost that much. Similar amount of pages. Maybe more. Just because it's used in classes? Fuckers. But I am taking a class that isn't the 'norm' in photography. Alternative photographic processes. Basically making photographs using similar tools from the early 1900s. So now that they aren't used any more, they call them 'alternative'. I suppose black and white film photography will go that route? I personally think not. I hope not anyway. I think it will be detrimental to go totally digital. In anything. But there has to be a catastrophe first in order for people to realize this. SO be it. Anyhoo, had to make a pinhole camera out of a coffee can. Kinda cool. Just a pain in the arse.
Saw "Children of Men". Eh, I didn't much care for it. I got most of the story, but was still a little lost. I want to see "The Painted Veil" next. We shall see.
Trying to decide what to make for my weekly 'nice' dinner. Veal Parm or CHicken. I'm thinkin the veal. It BETTER not have FREEZER BURN!
Um what else. I'm sure there's lots since I haven't been back to post in a bit. It'll be like that -- on and off. What with school and shit. Oh I have a FAcebook account, JOY! Not that anyone will read that. I was pressured by my peers haha.
I really should get some shit done.........
