I meditate. I burn candles. I drink green tea...............and still I want to smack someone.

A New Year...

a new me? Yea we'll see about that. I've already started off not the way I wanted. I am STILL on Aussie time. Even though when I returned I slept from 7pm to 11am, then was bed-ridden because I got so ill for several days, you would have thought my internal clock was set for EST. Um no. So For the past week and a half I've been up until 4am-ish. And not getting up until almost noon! It would be different if I had the graveyard shift.

Anyway, my first meal of the new year was Peppercorn Pork Tenderloin with Macaroni and Cheese (I had it and might as well eat it!) with some celery, carrots and broccoli. It doesn't appear that I've lost weight in Oz but I sure did eat much better. Couldn't help it, their food at the grocery was so fresh and tasty, not like a lot of the veggies here in the States that are genetically altered and huge and have no flavor whatsoever. I bought my monthly supply of groceries and am ready to eat better! Losing weight isn't my resolution. It is to be healthy. After all that hiking I realized I am not as fit as I mistakenly thought I was. I am right by the beach and unless I cannot finish my education, I will only be here for another year. Then I'll be landlocked. So I best take advantage of this area. I do love the beach, but I miss the mountains a lot. I am not a 'beach babe'. I burn to a crisp and when I get too hot I get cranky and don't like to do much.

I don't like the freezing cold, actually I think I could live along the equator. The temperature stays relatively the same. Does the sun stay out longer? Because I get depressed during the winter because of the shorter days. But today was close to 70 degrees. They have a Polar Bear swim the first of the year here at the beach and it's funny because it was so warm. The water might be chilly but it's not the same if the air temp is balmy!

I'm working on my photos for my class, so when I get them all done I'll post some here but I'll also update my website.

I really didnt' think the last part of my Australia trip through. I was debating on staying for the New Year and a part of me wish I had, but I also didn't want to be with a million and some odd people. But maybe next time.......Here's to a new year.............

Godt Nyttår

should see the polar bear swim in Seward. It's a big production, and you're diving into Resurection Bay when the air temp is -10 and it's blowing 20-30 knots :)
