Road Trip
sitting here dwelling on my situation.....I come to realize I need a good dose of Grandma. She's the only one I got left and I keep saying I'm going to visit. So, since I am taking the summer off from school, I have made a promise to myself to make that trip to see My Grams this summer. Plus I would like to see my cousin who I haven't really seen since we were little kids. We are so different (she is a theology graduate and works in some sort of religious atmosphere and I well, I have turned to the philsophies of Taoism and Buddhism to a point) but we used to have so much fun as little kids. She actually has been putting out the ideas of getting in touch with the cousins again and I say we should. She wants to meet at Grams and that works for me. I would also like to see my distant cousin who suffers from ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease). He was only given less than a year to live but he has outlived that. I think because he found a good woman and married her. A testimony to having positive supportive people in your life and the power of the mind. They live in/near Sarasota Florida and it takes about 6 1/2 hours according to the internet map. Less time than if I were going from Atlanta, so I think I will do it, although I may rent a car. Wait I have no money. I can't decide if it would be cheaper to rent a car with better gas mileage or to take the truck which only gets a little over 200 miles per full tank.......
Ok I seriously need to get up off my ass and get some things done.......

They say that married people live longer than single people. I can see why - even without a disease to deal with.
Stresses of everyday life where we have only ourselves to rely on take its toll. Having someone to lean on and help get things done takes a lot of stress out of our lives, and I'm sure your cousin has extended his life as a result of having someone by his side who cares for him, and about him.
