This class.......
is gonna break me. I have spent so much money I DON"T HAVE on it already, it's really pissing me off. I can only hope I can sell some of it or return some.
I have to replicate 5 tear sheets (which well you tear out of a magazine). The hardest part is finding something I can actually do (this one sheet has chocolate beauty items that half they don't make anymore, and the rest are coming from the five damn corners of the world! needless to say none of them are here yet). THen I have to get the lighting just about exactly right. Which is a chore in itself. So not as easy as it looks. For one thing, I know Photoshop plays a LARGE ASS (like mine) roll in the final ad. So I can only hope my partner's Photoshop skills are A+ because there is no way I pulled off the first set of images. I have four to go. Three are of people and I can't shoot them til next weekend. So now I'm scrambling around trying to find an asian looking piece of fabric or shirt (cha-ching) that looks similar to the one in the photo. Then I have to get geisha looking makeup (because that's what the woman is dressed as). I did find stuff, but online, so now I have to send em an ovary or something to ship it express. Ok fine, I'll use the makeup for Halloween or something, I'm doing SOMETHING with it. Then to get the background, which is expensive even though it's just a roll of damn paper! Blue. Seamless. Long enough and wide enough so it doesn't show when doing photo shoots.
Damn photography is expensive *sigh*
I do get to get my hands on that high dollar camera I told you about in a previous post.......ah it's nice. Just all the bells and whistles and the great photos it takes. Makes my little 10D look like a baby. I feel like such a professional now! Also get to use the outrageously high dollar Hasselblad that the pros use. Can see them using it on America;s Next Top Model I think. Yea, that's not going to end up in my equipment room in this lifetime...........
Okayyyyy, first brewed coffee was full of grounds. Glad I looked before I drank. Nice large hole in the filter.......NOTHING like a mouth full of coffee grounds to wake ya ass up in the mornin!

Jesus, $22,000! I would have figured, with the advent of digital, that all those high-end large format cameras would be irrelevant.
Are publications still using that 4x5 format? I guess so, for 22 grand.
$7,000 for a 35mm camera? That thing should tickle my ass for that amount.
