Not so easy
Now I know change is extremely difficult.
That's ok. But I wonder if I can do it.
I've been *trying* to study the zen/Buddhism/Taoism type philosophies on life. And they are all great.
In theory.
I have been making some very miniscule progress. I do meditate *on occasion* now. I do stop to practice yoga *some*. And it does help greatly. I feel I don't blow up at the drop of an idiot comment/action on the days I do this.
But I was born and raised Catholic. I eat meat. I've gone hunting and fishing. I smash bugs. I can't stand idiots. I can't stand more idiot behaviour. I can't stand EVEN MORE idiots who think it's ok to do idiot things and they are entitled to the world. I do have the occasional thought of killing *someone* and even made pla...ok best not to type it ALL out.
I digress.
But those philosophies embrace being kind to people and other living things. The other living things I have no problems with. *I'm working on the bugs though.* I mean seriously, what would the Dalai Lama do in a swarm of mosquitos? Let them feast?? I would think not?
And I have some anger issues. I don't get violent but the older I get the kettle gets closer and closer to just blowing off the top. I am not an advocate for violence, but sometimes I think on occasion it might be necessary in this day and age.
Just some thoughts.
Don't mind me.
Back to your usual programming.
BTW I'm kind of trying the non-meat thing. Slowly. Got this MorningStar sausage. It better taste good. I've had the crumbles in with my spaghetti sauce and it was pretty tasty.
*takes a bite* eh. Not the same a *real* sausage. But it'll do.

I'm a bug smasher if they're in my house. I can't have crawlies in here. Luckily, it's only once in a while. I think it's balanced out by the family of birds living in my air vent.
As for the meatless deal - every once in a while I get on the veggie kick. I do try to eat vegetables once a day, usually with lunch.
Most of those supermarket veggie-meat things aren't very good, but for some reason, restaurant veggie burgers are always good. I figure it's because they fry them on the same grill as the meat ones.
