Posting Tidbits

Just posting piecemeal as my internet connection is not the greatest.

Anyhoo, this week I decided to do the "local" thing. I do like to buy locally, but since I'm at the beach things here are a tad more expensive so I shop off the islands. But I decided to give the local grocery store a chance. And well I will stick to the Publix.

For one thing, the store is wall to wall stuff, hard to maneuver in there. But then again I suppose it isn't for doing a full on shopping spree.

Secondly, there was a lot of expired food. The fruits and vegetables were growing things on their own. Don't they check their food? I mean there should be no reason that fruits should be sitting on the shelf long enough to gather mold. The taters were sprouting. And you know it takes a while for those things to sprout.

Some items were actually a tad bit cheaper than the Publix. But overall the prices were equal or higher (unless it was expired, then it was drastically reduced), the produce was not very fresh, and well the people were a little rough around the edges.

I'd love to support the local store, but the other stores off the island are cheaper, have better options and at least rotate and take out the old stuff.
