Changes
boy am I ever experiencing some changes.
Moving was a chore. I did it all myself. I suppose I could have asked for help but I hate moving others (and people ask me a lot since I have a truck!). So I only asked my sister at the very end. This really has made me open my eyes to figure out why I have the shit I do have. Granted I don't want to live like a villager in the middle of the Amazonian jungle, but why do I need all the shit I've accumulated?> I don't. Money does that to ya. Cause you've got money you've got to spend it. On things you dont' need. I'm talking NEED not want. And there's a lot that I apparently had wanted over the years. I have gotten rid of most dust collectors so I don't have a lot of those. But I have things that are sentimental. Do I really need those things now? No. They are nice to have around until it's time to move them. And then it's like "what am I doing with this stuff>" So as I try to settle in with the boyfriend and clean his place from the bottom up (I don't think a woman's cleaned or ANYone for that matter in about 15 years. That's a lot of dust let me tell you), I will try to figure out if the things I own I absolutely have to have. I think this is my 2008 project.
Now the internet. Sure I don't need it, but it is very nice to have, especially when prospective employers, my current employer among others ask "do you have access to the internet?" Sure, I do, if I hit up the library. But I would like to have it in my home. THen I don't have to manually set proxies which I know nothing about. I do have a wireless router but I couldn't set that up right, one my father and brother have a wired router so my brother could get online, and two I hung up with Linksys when I was still on hold for 30 minutes. Setting it up wasn't the problem it's all the information they ask for that I don't have (DNS, gateway, etc.) and then trying to get my computer to recognize it. I'm clueless there. I'm sorry but I like to speak to an actual person. I don't want to "use the online support". I guess I should have but for now I'll use the library until it becomes so much of an inconvenience. I can get to most places except my school's email. That's a problem.
I finally got in touch with my old doctor. That receptionist I guess couldn't find it in her to call me back when I called last week. Fuckers. I need maintenance for my thyroid but right now I can barely hear out of my left ear. Woke up one morning and I felt like my ear needed to be "popped". I've tried it all and it still feels like I'm in an airplane and i can't pop my ear. Only way I can describe it. It's like it half-popped. Had someone look at it before I left, no wax buildup or infection but something is wrong with the canal. Nice. Just what I can't afford. He said to try AFrin but that hasn't worked. Health department doesn't handle that shit. Now where is a poor person to go for help? I'm white too keep that in mind. No children. I'm not disabled (these last two things exclude me from government assistance, I've already tried). I'll just have to make payments on my deductible for now.
As for the job hunting, haven't done much yet. Working on my resume. Already have business cards created, just need to get them printed. And I definitely need access to the internet to update and check out my webpage. That I'm going to redo since I have a new logo. I'll try to post it here within the week. I would like to start working for a photo studio, but my confidence is low right now. I'm just worried about my lack of experience and my age among other things. But I don't want to work for this company forever. I am so not a salesperson. And doing the "baby photos" really doesn't use my skills that I have learned. It's basically a sales job. Oh here is the website, new one for our "new" company.
www.our365.com
Yea gotta love the name. Makes NO REFERENCE to babies whatsoever. At least I will have an income of some sort until I can find something that will pay me more and give me more benefits. Maybe I should just move somewhere else???
Well for now, I need to see if I can get someone to get me internet access on Bumfuck Dirt Road, Georgia. Also to try to set up this router again on my parents' computer. If worse comes to worse they see me at least once a week if not more haha!

linksys is either a real pain in the ass to set up or it goes smoothly. however, once it's set up, i've always found them to be the more reliable of router companies. I don't like their customer service either.
Good luck with that "things I have to have" project. It's tougher than it sounds, believe me.
As for the Internet, the folks in my county decided it's "Essential" for modern life and are working on WiFi for the whole county. It sounds good, but I'm figuring that the local government will fuck it up somehow. We'll see.
On a lighter note, I bought a D40 and 18-55 zoom, so I'm now officially part of the digital age. Soon, I'll be doing a blog of my photos.
Red, you got me thinking that I need to chuck out alot of useless shit.
I saw on the news about a group of people that live like savages and not use to things we use every day. Like they eat off a farm, creepy. No but they have a out house and use solar energy. I looked at them at seems like missing your front teeth is a requirement.
