Time is of the Essence here

Well I'll try to be brief and full of information at the same time (laughing)

Well, I am not going to get dial up right now. I know I'm going to hate it. I've been doing ok without internet access but in this day and age, it really is a necessity. I cannot afford satellite and for the equipment plus the $55 a month and all you get is internet? That sucks. Ridiculous. I was going to get DirecTV but they charge a lease fee (although he does have a satellite dish so I wouldn't need to lease that) and honestly, I'd rather not have all those channels. Forces me to do other things and I need to. I get sucked in by the idiot box, hell I did while I was in SAvannah. So now, I only have the three local channels, TBS or Peachtree TV it is called here, two PBS channels, the CW (O JOY!), Fox, and two religious channels (Ok they don't count). And it's been fine. If I want to see my shows, I can have my brother download them. Sure, I miss the Animal Planet, the Discovery Channel, etc, but with all those options I was kept on the couch. See? I can do without the idiot box. Better for my health too.

On another note, the company I work for is seriously screwing up my pay (and many other photographers who used to work for the other companies). It's horrible. I didn't get my one paycheck, they screwed up the next one and now my commission is going to be lower. They already lowered my hourly rate last year. TUrns out the hospital here has very strict requirements. Out of the two women hired when I transferred, one has quit and she hadn't even finished training. Apparently the Company tells new hires they can make up to $15 - $20 an hour. Yea...........right........you have to hope you can get a minimum of $1000 in sales in one day. That isn't a realistic expectation when we are talking about new moms. Lots of variables. Plus the nurses have been really horrible to the photographers there, so needless to say the turnover for photographers in the area is extremely high. The district manager has to work at several hospitals, the area manager quit a week after I got here. That put things in a lovely spot. This company is so cheap it's pathetic. THey wanted to print photo buttons on copy paper!! I have a feeling a couple other people will be leaving too, including me. I just have got to get this resume updated and I will be doing that here shortly.

Oh I CAN get AT&T wireless card, but they charge $100 for that, a $45 activation fee, and again $50 or so a month. Ridiculous. I asked to waive the fee. No. Well I told them I'd go somewhere else. They didn't care. I just think it's bullshit paying for it all. So anyway, I'm not getting the internet at the house. For some reason the hospital's wireless only wants to work for me every other day. I haven't call them yet while I was there, because I have a feeling they will tell me it's my computer (and it's not, it's the network). SO, it's a crap shoot. Grin and bear it I guess for now. I was thinking of changing cell phone companies but they all want at LEAST a two year contract. I have no contract. And I don't want one for two fucking years. Maybe it will be feasible for me to get T-Mobile wifi? I don't know. I just know it's all too much damn money.........Hmmm it's $19.99 to add on to my T-Mobile phone service. Wonder if that would be feasible? Right now I found a coffee shop a few miles up the road but they are losing business due to YOU GUESSED IT Starbucks! But I have to buy something for $3.00 each time I go. I may add it on and see. But then I have to go farther to use the internet.

Well, I must be off. I've been here for 3 hours hehe. But I did buy coffee, a specialty coffee and a breakfast sandwich. And lots of places charge between $3-6 an hour for internet.

Well that's all for now. Til next time.......

Or you could just get a coffee maker for $20 and a can of coffee. I stopped going to the coffee shop everyday. It adds up.
