I meditate. I burn candles. I drink green tea...............and still I want to smack someone.

Coffee shop blues, homework agonies, and just plain stuff

i really do miss the internet. at first i thought i was having DT's. you see my sister has yet to get the internet up and running at her BF's place. so i've resorted to using some neighbor who hadn't locked their access. and that is really an unreliable access. i can't stay on long and even though i don't move i can't get back on. until i found this coffee house. i am really trying to watch my expenses but i think this will be my new home away from whereever my home is since it has coffeeeeee and the internet. beats driving all the way to downtown. which well i guess isn't that far. it's just i wig out on when i park the truck. luckily it looks like it belongs in the nicer end of a junk yard but still. having your car stolen twice kinda makes ya leary. it's not really the coffee shop blues but it sounded good in the heading. i have been here for a couple of hours after i did my little stint on the beach. i've been postponing my drawing haha!

My sister and I did see “In Her Shoes” with Cameron Diaz and Toni Collette. I’ll have to read the book. It was a good movie, and I find similarities between the characters and my sister and I (my sister is gorgeous yet irresponsible and flighty in some ways while I tend to be the practical very less attractive older sister who also has to take care of/bail out my other one). Although I realize that most guys won’t watch this movie, I’ve read a couple that said Cameron Diaz was hot. Ok, she USED to be. Lately and in this movie in particular, maybe she was hot from the shoulders down. Then again men and women view other women in different ways. Granted I know she’s older, and this was a movie so perhaps that was her intended look but seeing her in other photos, Cameron just looks like shit. Perhaps the body shots weren’t even her. Who knows. I would like to see “Elizabethtown” though. Seems interesting. I’m not a fan of Orlando Bloom’s but he doesn’t hurt the eyes.

I really would like to get to Vegas again. Do more things that I hadn’t been able to do. Maybe I will hop along when my grandmother goes. She is always getting free rooms etc. I would actually like to do more of the outdoorsy stuff, hiking etc. I was going to spend this break working, but I may take a couple of days to go out there. When I look at the few photos I took I can’t help but smile. It was a good time with good people, well maybe could have had a change of company. (It would have been nice to get other photos from the ones who took some.) Apparently a couple had different expectations when going out there and then said they didn’t have such a great time. *Shrugs* I hold little expectations of others and try to make my own good times. Anyhoo, I loved going to the top of the Palms. Shoot I think that’s where we went? LL help me out here, I think we hit the Ghost Bar? Didn’t see any celebs but LL thought someone in a wedding party was just going to take her drink order HAHAHA! I wouldn’t mind gambling a bit, I didn’t when I was out there. Oh except I think I dropped a $20 in the slot machine and won $60. That was a big risk for me haha! I usually love the nickel slots though. Makes ya FEEL like ya got a lot of money LOL. I do love Blackjack too but I don’t win much if any. I’m not willing to part with what I can afford to lose because well now especially I don’t have much I can afford to lose. I would like to see more of the other casinos though. Even with the visit for a wedding I didn’t get to see some of the casinos at the other end of the strip like the Luxor etc. I also wanted to try a few really good restaurants. We ate at some decent places, but I want to hit Little Buddha at the Palms, I hear it’s really a good restaurant. I of course like the Asian style so that’s a bonus. My grandmother and I did some sightseeing and since we had to go from Nevada to Arizona we went off to swing by some touristy spots. I would like to his the Mojave Desert though, take in a hike at Red Rock Canyon. I would love to stay there, but alas I will probably be going alone and I won’t do that alone. In retrospect I wish during the VP meet or whatever it’s being called now that we had seen Sigfried and Roy’s show since well now they do not have a show. We did get to see Mystere and I so love the Cirque du Soleil shows. There are a couple others I would like to see, I think Ka is the newest one? Just amazes me how fit and flexible these people are. If I could be even ¼ of the shape those performers are in I’d be a happy camper. Working on it working on it. Now that I have more time I have NO excuses. I did enjoy a spa service at Treasure Island, the hotel I was staying in. I had a body scrub and hot wrap or whatnot and it was awesome. First time I had something like that done, was a little weird at first but hell I get over such things quickly LOL. It was funny though to come out and see LL coming off the elevator or from the hall when I didn’t expect to see anyone I knew! I would like to get another scrub treatment, nice way to treat myself and it’s not a wasteful service like some of the others. I love thinking about Vegas. It’s a 24/7 place and can do almost anything under the sun there……..if ya never been, I at least recommend going once. I don’t think I’d want to live there, just because it IS so touristy, but I love to visit and that’s one of the few places I’d keep visiting.

i'm having other issues on the home front but i just don't feel like going into it. perhaps i'm wrong but i really don't give a rat's ass anymore. not that i really did before. i know i'm not ALways right, but i think i am right the majority of the time. it's gets real hard when two people think they are right. well to hell with it. i'll post it later. i suppose i best drag my ass to the drawing class. i still don't know why drawing is agonizing for me......

You gotta read the first book by Jennifer Weiner-it's called "good in bed". I read it i think 2 years ago then read "in her shoes". It's the sequel to the first one so start with that one first then read in her shoes. both are great books....i haven't seen the movie yet, but i plan to. there is also 2 other books by her-the 3rd is little earthquakes-that one was harder for me to get into and now she has a new book that i am waiting on from the library called goodnite nobody.

i've never been to vegas-it's too busy for me. and i can't gamble-it makes me sick and nervous to throw money in a machine.
if ya go-good luck.....
