Musings
wow forget one simple symbol when trying to put up links or something in your template and it doesn't work. hehe
anyhoo, things i've learned today:
1) i can barely do one pull up. pulling up my entire body weight is NOT easy.
2) i can at least hit double digits in push ups. pushing up my body weight isn't as bad.
3) i still have a tire around the middle, but at least i am one of very few women who can work the ab machine at the school gym (hehe makes me laugh to see some of the women try it after they see me on it, it's a seat, and you have to crunch together, weird, hard to explain, but it's not easy, and i use the second weight marker which i don't know what it is maybe 20, of course the men do more, but hey if i can do 2 and the other chics, like the stick-figured blonde bimbettes cant even do 1, i'm happy hehe)
4) the only one i can depend on is ME. *sigh* perhaps i expect too much, and i am by no means perfect, but when family disappoints ya....
i'm in a better frame of mind, now that i'm actually being proactive in some things. it's been raining like a damn pisser here!! it really wouldn't be so bad, if it didn't freakin wait til 5 PM TO START THUNDERSTORMIN' as that is the time i get off work and change to jog/hike. needless to say i haven't gotten much in this week.
i forgot i started a VIRT for my niece until i got a reminder email about it. it's kinda cool. unfortunately i try to look up activites and i never see much of any in there in my area or hers. the kids can make up activities and then they are supposed to go and play, and then write down in there what they did an make their VIRT move. kinda cute.
i am going to try to run/walk in a 5k. sounds easy but i'm not sure it is all that. it's like what 3 miles? gotta check my conversions here LOL. i barely know liquid conversions but that's because of my photo work with the chemicals and measuring precisely. OK 3.1 i looked at the map (the one i want to do is in Savannah) and it just seems kinda far. but i walk at least that on the weekend. even kids can do it. well it's not the 3k for them, but it looks fun. wonder if my niece will do it.....anyway, i'm gonna try it. i found this humorous but serious website and shit, if she can do a triathlon! i can do a 5k.
In the Storm of Roses
Wherever we turn in the storm of roses,
the night is lit up by thorns, and the thunder
of leaves, once so quiet within the bushes,
rumbling at our heels.
what's it mean? got me, but i liked it when i came across it. sometimes i feel like a rose. just a person but got my own damn thorns (moods!) that just won't go away. but, that's just who i am. turmoil just bubbling below the surface. ah well. i am in a better fram today tho. always good....
