Don't Call the City Parking Service When You Have Outstanding Tickets!
I got a ticket the other day for parking in the "freight zone". It was 5:30pm and I know damn well that parking services was done for the day (you only feed the meters from 8am to 5pm and not on weekends) so I know that our school bus driver called on me cause I took her stupid spot (she blew her horn at me when I parked there). So I was hot and I called the Parking Services of the City of Savannah. But I forgot that I decided not to pay two parking tickets. I mean come on, I'm only going to be here for this year. I've paid a couple. I've also gotten out of a couple by calling them up when the damn meters ate my money. And a few they don't know are mine because the retard meter maid put the wrong plate/vin# on the ticket. HAHA.
So I told the lady that I was "unloading" equipment for my class. I am NOT dragging 5 million pounds of lighting equipment through the projects by myself. She tells me that those spots are for "commercial vehicles" and they have special stickers. I asked her how they knew I was parked there because I was only there for less than five minutes and it was after working hours. She failed to answer that question. THen she proceeds to look me up in the system and tells me I have two outstanding tickets (DOH). And that one has a late charge *eyeroll*.
"Oh yea" I tell her, "I mailed that out so you should get that any day now."
"How much did you mail?"
"Well I don't know I'm not home. And I mailed a check."
I don't think she believed I mailed it. And she is right haha. Anyway, she tells me that if I send her $34.00 ("oh yea, that's how much I wrote the check for") I can mail this freight zone citation in and they will waive it.
So much for not paying my tickets. I know, it's karma. THen again knowing my luck, I would have got another ticket and wind up with a boot on my truck. I wonder if they have different size boots, because I don't think a standard boot will fit on my tires. Do they?
On another note, I don't believe in teasing animals. I know that animals are in zoos and zoological parks for conservation and breeding and protection (and I am ambivalent about keeping animals captive but anyway) but to taunt wild crocodiles with food is asking for trouble. A lot of those "tourism groups" off trips out into rivers and such to see crocodiles in the wild. Not just here but also in other countries, Australia, etc. Now i love watching The Animal Planet but when I saw this one show with some Australian guides baiting crocodiles for the hostess of the show (I don't know what show) I was just appalled. They actually showed the wild crocodiles coming OVEr to the boat instead of going the other way, like most wild animals will do. And of course these people made the crocs come out of the water trying to reach the food they were dangling in front of them. And people wonder why more and more people get attacked by wild animals (bears, crocodiles, sharks, cougars, snakes, whatever).
Oh but it's now OUR fault.
Can you imagine calling up your insurance company and letting them know that your car is totalled out because an elephant crushed it?

you do know the two biggest Polish lies right? "the check's in your mouth" and "I won't cum in the mail"? :)
