The quarter winds down and I'm winding up
Yup gotta get to the studio. I hope to god I can get these negatives scanned.......
But in browsing through my email, playing my scrabble games, I came across an article on MSN. I normally don't click on any of the titles on the MSN home page but because I was in Australia, I wanted to read it. This article of course brought back memories. I still have to work on my photos which I will do on spring break. But I just thought it was interesting how I can relate to some of his comments about not treading around on another culture's land without knowing what I'm doing. Granted I did a couple of tours in the OUtback, but I didn't climb the rock and I didn't take photos of the native people, which I very well could have done both. Trust me my shutter finger was having seizures. But I respect them and they ways even if I don't know or understand them all. It just kills me how many people just blatantly are selfish and don't care about another person's culture, beliefs or wishes. Sure I would have loved to go up that rock, and yes to take in the view. I would have love to have that "aborigine" in my photos because they would be that much more interesting. But I respect THEIR wishes to follow them and respect them. I would have loved to have had a different type of photo than the "touristy" ones I have but that would have meant I would have had to go traipsing around on sacred land and probably destroying something. But I didn't. If only others would be as respectful.......Man I would love to go back.
Ok gotta go
