Is today Easter?
It must be, because I was watching the Ten Commandments with Charlton Heston last night. Doesn't "The Wizard of Oz" come on this time of year too?
WEll, Easter isn't a big holiday for me because the people I would spend it with all died around this time, so I just don't see any sense in having a whole big thing. I spent it with my grandparents every year and well, they aren't here now. I'm not big into religion so I don't go out celebrating that kind of stuff either. In my opinion I don't think 75% of the people who say they celebrate Christ really do anyway. That's just my opinion.
So today, since it's my one day off from school and work for the week, am taking advantage. Actually I have to clean. THis place is a pig sty since last quarter and I can't find stuff again or put my computer on a nice steady surface so when those things happen it's time to clean.
I've also made some small changes that so far I've been able to stick with. Damn this baby-step thing is soooooooo slow. But if I don't do baby steps, I will not follow through. So far I've
* added drinking one cup of water with lemon in the mornings
* added one or two eggs for breakfast
* put flavors in my water, like cranberry juice (UNSWEETENED when I can find it), lemon, lime etc.
* practice at least 20-30 minutes of yoga and meditation in the mornings
* eating fish several times a week instead of beef
* using Stevia instead of honey or other sugars (now this is hard, because I swear by honey, and I haven't completely stopped using it, but I wanted to try this Stevia shit out. It's actually good, but twice as much as the other stuff)
I would like to add that yoga at night but for now it hasn't happened. I am so trying to add at least one veggie to lunch and dinner but that hasn't worked out either. I am just not a huge veggie fan, especially when there's rice and mac & cheese out there! But I cut out a lot of the pasta dishes so I kind of have to find something to put in there. Veggies don't taste bad, it's just there are other things that taste so much better.
I haven't quite gone 'totally organic' because well, on my student budget, it's not financially sound. A lot of the stuff is double what the 'non-organic' stuff is. Some I have bought and actually don't find the taste too much different. I figure once I get to G-man's to stay, I will have all the organic veggies I need since he has a nice huge garden. Peas, beans, squashes, cukes, 'maters, even some lettuce. So I will have all the pesticide- and chemical-free salad fixin's I can handle.
Like I said, it's slow......now if I can just get my happy ass to the gym.........or at least motivated to work out here.......that's the hardest part. When I paid for a gym it was fine, I went, because for one thing I was paying for it. The school's gym is free but I feel like I'm working out in a sweatbox. The gym is in the basement of a building and when you get a couple of guys in their sweating their asses off, they just stink up the place. There aren't any damn windows and all the fans do is blow the stink around. And if you have someone of Asian or Indian descent, well then it ends up smelling like spicy stinky food, because with the spice scent is the sweat and spicy sweat doesn't smell good. Plus there's no parking. Yes, I know I should be walking anyway, but when I'm done working out, I like to get to my vehicle and go, I already worked out, I don't want to spend another hour finding my truck. THen again I guess I could do cardio at that time haha. Because as much as I like conserving my energy, it's settling in my butt. So it's time to burn off the energy I've accumulated over the winter.
Well I guess I better get started on something before I sit my lazy azz down......

I never figured out what "The Ten Commandments" has to do with Easter. I suppose it's the most popular religious movie they could find. They wouldn't dare show "Passion of the Christ".
I've been drinking a lot more water lately. Which means I've been running to pee every half hour, too. Good and bad.
I'm not sure about these artificial sweeteners. I'm pretty much sweetener-free now, which is a real stretch for me - especially with cereal.
I buy the frozen veggies and mix in a little chicken or turkey and nuke it for lunch. Not as good as organic, but better than nothing. They want us to eat organic but who can afford it?
Don't be dissin' Moses now....
I'm not dissin Moses! I love that movie!
