With the full moon and the high tides and all this wind, if I weren't bottom heavy I'd be blown away!

Needless to say I didn't make it to the beach for a while. Was going to go today but the wind was pretty strong and it's bad enough the sand gets into stuff, with it blowing around 32 mph I didn't want to be eating, breathing sand.

Now everyone is getting all worked up because of the beach erosion. Something about the way the river is flowing and with this northeasterly wind the 'normal' flow of sand isn't reaching our beach and of course the tides and this wind are destroying the beach here. The money from the government of course didn't come through for the beach restoration process and they are going to go ahead with some of it anyway. But everyone's freaking out.

I can understand that, but to me, that's just the way things go. Now I know human development and encroachment has not helped nature. But erosion is going to happen. Sure, I wouldn't want to see the beach go away and it most likely won't, but the people who have these beach houses are losing their beach yard (boohoo).

It's also a shame that the loggerhead and leatherback turtle nests are being destroyed. The tides have been so high that they've drowned the nests which were above the high tide line. That's sad. But, as heartless as this may sound, nature happens. This year I guess wasn't the year for some of them. It is bad enough that people dig up the nests, that the turtles head the wrong way because of house lights.

Perhaps I'll be able to hit the beach without being blown away too much tomorrow. We shall see.

On another note, I get so sick of people sitting in the middle of an intersection when the damn light turns red. Now why is it so hard for people to just wait? Oh wait, I know the answer to that. because people want to get there NOW. Well, waiting three more minutes is not going to kill them. And if they are late going somewhere, its not the world's fault. Well apparently around here there is going to be a law where if you are caught in the intersection at a red light your ass is getting a ticket. That would be nice, but there are a lot of roads around here that happens on.

I saw some quote the other day that said something like it's not that I want to think like other people, but it's a shame that others don't think like me. Something like that. I have to see if it is still at work. I know I can't get the world to think like me (although *dreaming* that would be nice). But every day my eyes are just opened more and more at the ignorance and stupidity that abounds out there. Common sense seems to be diminishing from society.

Well I best head off to bed. I want to get up early and not sure that's going to happen since I woke up seriously late today. I had my vodka/cranberry drink, but I don't think I put enough vodka in it.
