I'm all for the simple things........but
I'm for progress too. It's not that I don't like change, but sometimes technology makes the world lazier. And I already fall into the lazy scene and I'm trying to get out of it.
Walking into Best Buy today to buy my inkjet paper did not help when I looked up while waiting in the long ass line to checkout and saw about a 36" HD TV. Wow, the clarity of the screen! I was about hooked. I still own a VCR and still use it to record as well as I suppose a tube TV (I know it's not a plasma nor HD). Both serve their purpose. But that HD TV was incredible. I keep seeing all these stations putting (available in HD) at the bottom of the screen. I also see this ad that shows up saying all TV shows will be shown in digital or your TV has to be digital or some shit like that. So does this mean I am forced to get a new TV if I want to continue watching TV? Perhaps this is a good thing. Because watching TV is my downfall. I watch extremely too much and I know it. I just haven't had the inclination to change it much. Oh I have reduced it due to school, but I still have the habit of plopping down in front of the tube after a rough day at school and work, skipping other duties that need to be done.
So, it would be nice to own one of the fancy HD TVs but unless G-man gets one for himself I won't be purchasing one for myself.

Plasma. LCD. Projection. Big Fucking Deal. Why would I waste that amount of money on a tv so I could watch shitty damn tv shows. Unless you watch movies every night of the week, what's the point?
