Going Dark
Well, today is "technically" my last day at this apartment but I've got a couple more days yay! Hopefully she won't charge me. I am about packed, I just have to put the shit in the van. boy do I have a lot of crap and I wonder why I have it.
I tend to hold on to things. Like my stereo from the fucking 80s. Ya know the kind. The one with 3 foot speakers and a cabinet? Well I left the cabinet at my parents', but I have the rest. But it's got to go. I am so tired of moving this crap. I've had it since I was 16. Still worked so why should I have gotten rid of it? Well now it's time to go. Not just for the oldness of it, but for the portability. Let me tell you, it's not very portable. And I didn't have furniture to move thank goodness.
But along the way I've had some difficulties. I had two photo shoots: one wedding and one family. Between the two I lost my compact flash card with the wedding photos on it. Luckily I had the brains to upload them to the computer right away, but now I lost my good card. The other one is old and starting to corrupt images. I needed a new one anyway, so this kind of forces me to get one, but I wanted to wait until I got a better income flow. I also lost my flash drive with some school work on it. Hopefully I have it all on the computer. But now I have to get another one of those too. I have no idea what happened to those......
My boss is just a fucking slacker. For two months I've been asking him for the contact information for the representative for the Atlanta area hospitals to see if I could simply transfer to a different hospital. When he finally decides to give me the email address it's fucking wrong. So I just went above his head (yet again) and found the information myself. She emailed me the NEXT DAY AND even while she was on vacation! So hopefully I will have a continuing job when I move. At least some steady sort of income coming in. Until I get my "dream" job, whatever that is haha!
I had been putting off going out with a friend (who happens to be a guy). I agreed then changed my mind, because I know he has feelings for me that I won't reciprocate. He knows I have a boyfriend but unfortunately he also knows the problems we have. And going out even just as friends I think might cause him to think he has a remote chance of getting in my pants (which he doesn't). Or at least trying to date me. Not that I'm like this hottie, but even in the past, when have S-P-E-L-L-E-D out that it's not a date, that I just want to be F-R-I-E-N-D-S some of the men just didn't get it. But eventually we went to dinner. I couldn't put it off forever. And hopefully he and I can stay in contact if nothing else but professionally. He's an excellent photographer and resource to have.
As I sit here and think about a lot of the things I hadn't done while at the beach, I also realize that I"m not a beach person. Sure I went frequently, but you know what? IT's just too damn flat around here. I need hills and mountains. I love the beach, but it's not the same as when I was a kid. I can't sit out and get sun since I burn to a crisp and well it's not good for you. I' don't go too far in the water because I wear contacts so I don't swim much or do water sports. So I can't wait to be an hour away from the mountains instead of five. So even though I will miss the beach, I'm glad to be closer to the mountains.
It's been a year since I went to Australia. I will hopefully have more time to work on my Australia photos and build a portfolio or some sort of book I can give out. I only wish they were much better because I have a lot of post production to do on them. But that's ok.
I can't part with my photography magazines. I need to but I simply can't. So I have like 6 different types, two years' worth! My sister keeps getting on me to get rid of them but I can't. Not yet. I did get rid of the 3 years' worth of my exercise magazines so that's a step forward.
So, I may not be here for a few weeks. In case anyone will be wondering....
Happy New Year!

I keep so many old magazines it should be a crime. But it's nice to sit on the crapper and look through some old items now and again.
Was that too much info?
Happy New Years!
As far as the magazines, one day I sat down with all of them and ripped out the pages that had interesting or informative articles and put them in a notebook. Two years worth of magazines, minus ads and nonsense fit into one notebook.
